Ron Hevener

Lots of people wonder how we find the animals for Hevener figurines and paintings. Actually, we raise many of them ourselves. We have our own kennels, stables, and plenty of cats, chickens and wildlife. We even have a Jersey cow and a flock of peacocks with a grand-daddy who is 31 years old.

We find other animals with private breeders, or at public events such as county fairs, livestock auctions, purebred shows, pet expos and animal shelters.

Because it takes time to make a Hevener figurine, and because animals can be so restless, a good photographer is priceless! Our studio counts on popular photographer, Maxine Bochnia, to capture just the right expression and just the right effect.
