Lochranza Kennels
LOCHRANZA KENNELS, established by the late Jacqueline M. Kauffman, is one of the oldest AKC registered kennels in the United States.
Named after a private retreat of the Scottish monarchy, the kennel has been amassing important trophies and awards with it's beautifully marked, great moving and expressive Collies since 1945.
Never one to scrimp on the price of a good dog, Miss Kauffman collected her winning Collies from Coast to Coast. Many thousands of dollars were paid for these dogs as she built the kennel's foundation stock, including the legendary Ch. AMBERLYN'S BRIGHT TRIBUTE on whom
the LOCHRANZA Bloodline is now based. For a look at this magnificent Mahogany Sable dog in motion, you can refer to the official AKC video for the breed, in which he appears representing the ideal Collie in so many ways.
At the time of her death, most of Miss Kauffman's dogs were past their breeding prime, but according to her wishes the kennel name "LOCHRANZA" was kept alive and a major effort, involving Collie breeders nationwide, was launched as dogs were shipped from Michigan to California and Pennsylvania to fulfill Miss Kauffman's "dream litter." This litter produced a look-alike successor to her famous champion, a double-grandson named LOCHRANZA'S MASTER PLAN.
